Welcome to Escape Velocity Rocketry(EVR). Escape
Velocity (EV) is the velocity needed to "escape" from the atmosphere.
In other words to exit from our atmosphere and into space. So if you can throw
an object with enough initial upward velocity so that gravity's decreasing
force can never quite slow it to a complete stop, its decreasing velocity
can always be just high enough to overcome gravity's pull. The initial velocity
needed to achieve that condition is called escape velocity.
I was thinking of quite a number of other names but came up with this after
a heated discussion about what EV is.
This site is purely there for informational purposes as I am already a member of the South African Rocketry Association as well as the rocketry club, Xtreme Rocketeers.
I just wanted to have a spot on the web where I could tell you about all my rocketry endeavours and share some of the information that I have and also some of the experiences. I always say: "Why reinvent the wheel?" So learn from my mistakes as I have learnt from other's. I also wanted a base from which to launch my projects and share with you all the trials and tribulations as I go along.
Well enough of that, hope you enjoy your stay here and if there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Enjoy and BLUE SKIES!!
